Interesting. I don’t have that reaction at all. Your reasoning is sound, but I’m just so glad there is a label that describes what she’s currently into (even badly) that the label’s inherent misogynism slides right past. Tomboy only works for girls who are physically confident, so I never had access to it. I don’t think I’d ever even thought of it as anything other than a good label to have access to. |
